About This Product
■Summary
Labo whetstone is a super-finish whetstone for precision polishing developed exclusively for Lapping and Polishing. In conventional grinding wheels, pores are one of the most important factors in grinding, but in laboratory grinding wheels, the cutting edge is regenerated by softening the binder with liquid, so pores are theoretically not necessary.
Therefore, we developed a lab whetstone based on the idea of lowering the porosity and increasing the abrasive grain ratio, and also taking advantage of the structural characteristics of magnesia bond and our own proprietary technology regarding the binder composition. If you are dissatisfied with conventional magnesia whetstones, please try using our laboratory whetstones and check their performance.
■Special features
- The bonding agent is softened by the grinding fluid and deposited sequentially on the surface of the cutting edge, so there is no clogging or crushing, and you can work efficiently.
・It has excellent sharpness and grindability, so you can easily remove scratches from previous processing and achieve the desired finished surface in a short time.
・Since it generates little heat during work, thermal changes in the material to be ground are kept to a minimum, resulting in a finished surface that resembles the original metal.
■Applications
- Originally developed for attaching safety razor blades, it is ideal for attaching and finishing the edges of all types of cutlery. In addition, it fully demonstrates its performance in low-speed, high-pressure polishing such as parallel plane honing.
・Finishing of parts for automobiles, computers, rectifiers, hydraulic equipment, etc.
・Finishing of magnetic materials, semiconductors, glass, jewelry, etc.
・FRP, plastic finishing, etc.
■Type of abrasive material
・A: Brown alumina
・WA: White alumina
・C: Black silicon carbide
・GC: green silicon carbide
- A mixture of two types of abrasive grains can be used; in this case, the symbol of the abrasive grain used is also called, and this is called a mixed abrasive grain. Examples of mixed abrasive grains: A/WA, C/GC, A/C
・Production particle size standard range #100~#3,000
■Hardness [degree of bonding]
Although there are no regulations regarding the degree of bonding for Mg (magnesia) grinding wheels, we have developed our own degree of bonding and manage our products accordingly.
■Mg (magnesia) whetstone structure
The abrasive grain ratio is higher than other grinding wheels, and it has a unique composition. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the characteristics of the magnesia manufacturing method, it has a unique structure with high heat absorption properties.
