About This Product

Ultrasonic transducers convert high-frequency electrical vibrations into mechanical longitudinal vibrations with constant output amplitude. Ultrasonic transducers have protection ratings of IP50, IP65, and IP67, depending on the conditions of the production environment. For rotary operation, we have developed a series of ultrasonic transducers with integrated HF connections for rotary couplers. Common to all ultrasound transducers is a central assembly using solid piezoceramic four-disc technology. The rigid decoupling principle allows high axial and lateral forces. A special manufacturing process provides an extremely long service life with constant output amplitude.

■How does an ultrasonic transducer work?

The energy required for ultrasonic welding is input through mechanical vibrations. For this purpose, ultrasonic oscillators generate electrical vibrations in the 20 or 35kHz range from a 50Hz AC mains current. Through the vibrator, electrical vibrations are converted into mechanical vibrations of the same frequency. This longitudinal mechanical vibration is transferred to the horn after the vibrator.
