About This Product

■How ion exchange fat creates pure water

An ion exchanger made from a porous synthetic resin that releases its own ions into water and takes in other ions present in the water is called ion exchange resin. Adsorption treatment using ion exchange fat is one of the advanced treatments and is used to obtain treated water with high purity. The diagram on the right shows the procedure for treating wastewater containing impurities. Cationic resin takes in Nat (cations) and releases H+ (hydrogen ions). Anion street fat takes in CH (anions) and releases OH (hydroxide ions). In some cases, a mix of two types of side fat is also used. Ion exchange resin is in the form of particles with a diameter of approximately 1.0 mm, and has an appearance similar to fish eggs, such as cod roe or herring roe. It comes in a variety of colors, including brown, white, and black, and ranges from slightly transparent to opaque. *Replacement frequency varies depending on usage conditions.
