About This Product
■Mirror ink for polycarbonate. Inexpensive and compatible with FIM molding
Although inexpensive, it has excellent brightness and adhesion, and is compatible with FIM molding.
■Applicable materials
Sheets and molded products made of polycarbonate, easily adhesive PET, etc. Since solvent resistance varies depending on the material, brightness and adhesion may be affected. Please conduct sufficient testing before using.
■Applications
By printing on the back side of a transparent material, you can create an alternative expression to vapor deposition, hot stamping, etc.
■Printing plate
- SX screen is suitable for screen mesh. We recommend SX#270 or lower for fine line patterns, and SX#250 or lower for solid or rough patterns.
- Select an emulsion with excellent solvent resistance, and apply a thin film.
■Dilution
The product is set up so that it can be printed without any adjustment, so please use it as is when you open it. If dilution is necessary to adjust the viscosity after use, please use a special solvent (BIP solvent standard).
■Printing
Because the ink cuts well, it is better to set the doctor pressure a little stronger and the squeegee pressure a little weaker, and use a medium hard squeegee for a better finish. Also, better results can be obtained by setting the doctor speed a little slower and the squeegee speed a little faster.
■Pressure printing
Although the ink alone will adhere to the material, be sure to use pressure printing to prevent scratches and improve durability. For pressure printing, please use BP ink with 98 crosslinking agent added up to 5%.
■Drying
Dry to the touch takes 30 minutes to 1 hour at room temperature, about 1 to 3 minutes under hot air at 60℃, and about 1 minute with SMJD. The recommended drying conditions for backing with BP ink are as follows. After mirror PCE printing, dry with warm air at 60℃ for 3 minutes. After printing with BP ink, dry with warm air at 60℃ for 3 minutes. After final drying at 60°C for 1 hour, it was left at room temperature for 1 day, and no peeling was observed in the cross-cut Sellotape peel test.
■Addition of crosslinking agent
・Adding 1% of 98 crosslinking agent to the mirror improves coating performance and adhesion.
・If a crosslinking agent is added, a pot life (pot life) will occur. Pot life is approximately 5 hours at room temperature. Add crosslinking agent to the required amount of ink, and discard used ink without returning it to the can. Please note that if you add too much 98 crosslinking agent to the mirror, the environmental test performance of the coating may deteriorate.
