About This Product

■Summary

MP6908L is a low drop diode emulator IC. When combined with an external switch, the MP6908L can replace Schottky diodes in high efficiency flyback converters. The MP6908L regulates the forward drop of an external synchronous rectifier (SR) MOSFET to approximately 40mV and turns off the switch when the voltage goes negative. The MP6908L can generate its own supply voltage for low output voltage or shorted output conditions, and for battery charging applications that may have high-side synchronous rectification configurations. A configurable ringing detection circuit prevents the MP6908L from accidentally turning off after VDS oscillates in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) or during quasi-resonant operation. The MP6908L is offered in a space-saving TSOT23-6 package.
