About This Product

■Summary

The MP44018A is a CRM/DCM multimode PFC controller that provides simple, high performance active power factor correction using minimal external components. MP44018A features very low supply current. This allows the device to achieve low standby power dissipation, with typical no-load power below 30mW. Dead-time extension techniques under light-load conditions reduce switching frequency and improve light-load efficiency. MP44018A achieves lower THD with variable on-time control in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) compared to traditional constant on-time (COT) control. Multi-protection features greatly improve system safety and reliability. The MP44018A features overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent limit (OCL), overcurrent protection (OCP), undervoltage protection (UVP), power recovery (BI) and power outage (BO), static OVP, VCC undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and overtemperature protection (OTP). MP44018A is offered in SOIC-8 package.
