About This Product

■Summary

The MPX2002 is an all-in-one flyback controller that includes a primary drive circuit, a secondary controller, a synchronous rectifier driver, and safety-compliant feedback. Provides the benefits of both primary side regulation (PSR) and secondary side regulation (SSR). No feedback circuitry is required, reducing system complexity and total BOM cost. A synchronous rectifier (SR) can match the drive signal of the primary MOSFET, allowing the SR to operate safely in continuous conduction mode (CCM). Meanwhile, the integrated SR controller controls the SR MOSFET with a lower threshold, increasing overall efficiency and design flexibility. An internal linear regulator is integrated for the SR power supply, allowing the MPX2002 to drive the low-side SR MOSFET without an auxiliary winding even at low outputs. The MPX2002 operates in CCM at high loads and in quasi-resonant (QR) mode when the load decreases. When the load decreases further, the MPX2002 operates in pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode. The switching frequency (fSW) is fixed at 20kHz when the device enters burst mode, which helps prevent audible noise. The MPX2002 delivers high efficiency under most load conditions while improving EMI performance. MPX2002 has VCC overvoltage protection (OVP), primary side overcurrent protection (POCP), secondary sensed output overload protection (OLP), internal brown-in/brown-out (B/I, B/O), short circuit protection (SCP), current sensing short circuit protection (SSP), SR gate open/short circuit protection (SGOP/SGSP), SRD fault protection (SRDP), FB OVP and undervoltage protection. (UVP), internal thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and external trigger protection (Ext.P). MPX2002 is offered in SOICW-16 and TSOICW16-15 packages.
