About This Product

■Summary

The MP023 is an offline primary-side controller that provides accurate constant-voltage and constant-current regulation without the need for optocouplers or secondary-side feedback circuits. Uses an integrated 700V current source for quick start-up. The MP023's variable off-time control allows the flyback converter to operate in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The MP023's current limit and maximum secondary duty cycle are programmable, making it easy to set the output current. The FB voltage detection point is also programmable to set different switching frequencies. Internal high-voltage start-up current sources and power-saving techniques limit no-load power consumption to less than 30mW. Extensive protection features include VCC undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overload protection (OLP), overtemperature protection (OTP), open loop protection (OCkP), and overvoltage protection (OVP). The MP023's variable switching frequency scheme provides a natural spectrum for shaping smooth EMI characteristics, making it suitable for offline low-power battery chargers and adapters. The MP023 requires a minimal number of standard off-the-shelf external components and is offered in a SOIC8-7A package.
