About This Product

■Summary

The MCS1823 is a linear Hall effect current sensor for AC or DC current sensing. Differential Hall array cancels out any stray magnetic fields. The low resistance of the primary conductor (0.6 mΩ) allows high currents to flow in close proximity to the integrated circuit containing the high-precision Hall sensor. This current generates a magnetic field that is sensed at two different points by an integrated Hall effect transducer. The difference in magnetic field between these two points is then converted into a voltage proportional to the applied current. Spinning current technology is used to keep the offset low and stable. The MCS1823 integrates fast overcurrent detection (OCD) to easily monitor system overcurrent (OC) events. The MCS1823's small footprint reduces board area and is ideal for space-constrained applications. The MCS1823 is available in an ultra-small TQFN-12 (3mm x 3mm) package.
