About This Product

■Summary

MPQ3367A is a boost converter with 6 channel current sources. Designed to drive white LED (WLED) arrays as backlights for small or medium-sized liquid crystal display (LCD) panels. This device uses peak current mode as a pulse width modulation (PWM) control architecture to stabilize a boost converter. A 6-channel current source is applied to the LED cathode to adjust the LED brightness. The MPQ3367A regulates the current in each LED string to a value set by an external current setting resistor, with 2.5% current matching between strings. Low on-resistance MOSFETs and low headroom voltage improve efficiency. For ease of use, the MPQ3367A features a standard I2C digital interface. The switching frequency (fSW) can be set via a resistor, I2C interface, or external clock. MPQ3367A features analog dimming, PWM dimming, and mixed dimming modes with PWM input. Dimming mode can be selected by I2C interface or MIX/AD pin. It also has a phase shift function to remove noise during PWM dimming. Fully integrated protection features include overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and overtemperature protection (OTP). The LED current will automatically decrease at high temperatures. MP3367A is available in a QFN-24 (4mm x 4mm) package.
