About This Product

■Summary

MPQ7225 is a 16-channel current sinking LED driver. Each channel has a current rating of up to 200mA, and 16 ICs can be cascaded, creating a 256-channel solution. MPQ7225 is optimized for animation or dynamic lighting applications. It employs 12-bit pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming and 6-bit analog dimming registers per channel to control each channel individually. The MPQ7225 has a robust, high-speed, CAN-compatible differential interface and is designed to work between distant PCBs. The MPQ7225 features Adaptive Feedback Control (AFC) to maximize system efficiency. The output voltage (VOUT) preregulator (such as a step-down voltage regulator) adjusts in real time to ensure that the voltage between channels remains at a minimum value (typically 300mV headroom at 200mA). The MPQ7225 helps you design systems for functional safety with fail-safe (/FS) indicators. The rich protection suite includes LED open protection, LED short protection, ISET pin open protection, ISET pin short protection, and thermal shutdown. When a fault condition occurs, the fault indicator goes low and the matching fault register is set. The MPQ7225 is available in a QFN-32 (5mm x 6mm) package and is AEC-Q100 qualified.
