About This Product

■Summary

The MPQ5029 is a USB Type-C port controller that integrates a low on-resistance (RDS (ON) ) USB current limit switch and charging port identification circuit. The MPQ5029 supports up to 3A continuous output current (IOUT). The USB switch output has a programmable current limit. MPQ5029 supports Dedicated Charging Port (DCP) method for battery charging specification (BC1.2), divider mode, 1.2V / 1.2V mode, and quick charging specification (QC3.0) without requiring any external user interaction. MPQ5029 also supports USB Type-C 5 V@3A DFP mode. MPQ5029 provides configurable linear line drop compensation. Extensive protection features include hiccup current limiting, input overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown. The MPQ5029 requires minimal off-the-shelf standard external components to complete the USB switch and charging mode auto-detection solution. The MPQ5029 is available in a QFN-14 (2mm x 3mm) package.
