About This Product

■Summary

MPQ5029-C is a fully integrated USB Type-C port controller that is also compatible with traditional USB Type-A ports. It integrates a low on-resistance (RDS (ON)) USB current limit switch and charging port identification circuit. MPQ5029-C supports up to 3A continuous output current (IOUT). MPQ5029-C supports battery charging specification (BC1.2), divider mode, 1.2V / 1.2V mode, charging downstream port (CDP) mode for fast charging specification (QC3.0), and dedicated charging port (DCP) method without requiring any external user interaction. MPQ5029-C can also support USB Type-C 5V@3A DFP mode. Extensive protection features include hiccup current limiting, input overvoltage protection (OVP), thermal shutdown (TSD), and short-to-battery protection. The MPQ5029-C requires a minimal number of standard off-the-shelf external components to complete the USB switch and charging mode auto-detection solution. MPQ5029-C is available in a QFN-14 (2mm x 3mm) package.
