About This Product

■Summary

The MP2702 is a linear charger for 1-cell to 2-cell Li-Ion, Li-Polymer, LiFePO4 batteries, and 2-cell to 6-cell NiMH batteries. The device can withstand voltages up to 26V. The MP2702 automatically charges in four phases: battery voltage (VBATT), trickle charge, pre-charge, constant current fast charge, and constant voltage charge. The MP2702 provides an ISET pin and connects a resistor between ISET and ground to set the charging current. The device also provides a USBM pin to set the input current limit (IIN_LIM) before setting the charging current. The MP2702 has a minimum input voltage limit (VIN_LIM) that reduces battery current when the input power is overloaded. The MP2702 has robust protection features including input and battery overvoltage protection (OVP), charging safety timer, and battery temperature protection in accordance with JEITA standards. The MP2702 has a dedicated EN pin to enable or disable charging. When charging is disabled, the quiescent current (quiescent current) flowing into the IN or BATT pins is minimized. Additionally, the MP2702 has two open-drain pins to indicate input power status and charging status. The ACOK pin indicates whether input power is present. The CHG pin indicates several states of charging, including charging, termination, and fault events. MP2702 provides flexible memory to set various charging parameters. The MP2702 is available in a QFN-10 (2mm x 2.5mm) package.
