About This Product

■Summary

MPS' MP2759 is a highly integrated switching charger designed to power 1-cell to 6-cell series Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery pack applications. This IC supports several battery chemistry types with different battery regulation voltages. The IC starts operating with DC input voltages up to 36V and lasts up to 45V. When input power is present, the MP2759 powers the battery in four phases: trickle charge, precharge, constant current (CC) power, and constant voltage (CV) power. The MP2759 provides input current limiting and minimum input voltage limiting features. If the input current reaches the input current limit or the input voltage drops to the minimum input voltage limit, the MP2759 automatically reduces the supply current to limit the input power. To ensure safe operation, the MP2759 includes robust protection features such as battery overvoltage protection, battery temperature detection and protection, thermal shutdown, and power delivery safety timer. The MP2759 is available in a small QFN-19 (3mm x 3mm) package.
