About This Product

■Summary

MPS's MP2759A is a highly integrated switching charger designed to charge applications with one-cell to six-cell series Li-ion or Li-ion polymer battery packs. This device supports several battery chemistries with different battery regulation voltages. The device operates with DC input voltages up to 36V and sustained voltages up to 45V. When input power is present, the MP2759 powers the battery in four phases: trickle charge, precharge, constant current (CC) charge, and constant voltage (CV) charge. MP2759A has input current limit function and minimum input voltage limit function. If the input current reaches the input current limit or the input voltage drops to the minimum input voltage limit, the MP2759A automatically reduces the charging current to limit the input power. To ensure safe operation, the MP2759A includes robust protection features such as battery overvoltage protection (OVP), battery temperature detection and protection, thermal shutdown, and charging safety timer. The MP2759A is available in a small QFN-19 (3mm x 3mm) package.
