About This Product

■Summary

The MP8008L is an integrated IEEE, 802.3af/at, PoE compliant powered device (PD) power converter. The MP8008L includes a PD interface and a peak current mode flyback controller. The PD interface has full IEEE802.3af/at functionality, including detection, one-event and two-event classification, 85mA inrush current limit, 840mA operating current limit, and 100V hot-swap MOSFET. The flyback pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller can drive external MOSFETs that can handle currents in excess of 10A for high-power flyback PoE applications. Pulse-skipping mode increases efficiency under light load conditions. Other protection features include overload protection (OLP), output short circuit, and overvoltage protection (OVP). The MP8008L is a front-end solution for PoE PD applications with minimal external components and is available in a QFN-28 (4mm x 5mm) package.
