About This Product

■Summary

The MP8003A is an IEEE802.33af/at, PoE (Power over Ethernet) compliant powered device (PD) and interface controller. The MP8003A has all the features of IEEE802.3af/at, including detection, one-event and two-event classification, input current control, and 100V hot-swap MOSFET. The MP8003A sets the inrush current limit at startup to approximately 120mA and switches to 840mA once the output path MOSFET is fully turned on. A PG signal set high indicates the output is fully charged and will go low when the output drops under overload conditions. The MP8003A also provides T2P signals when connected to a Type-2 Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). The auxiliary power input detector (AUX) provides smooth power transition from the PSE to the auxiliary power adapter. The MP8003A also features built-in thermal protection and wide input UVLO hysteresis. The MP8003A is available in a QFN-10 (3mm x 3mm) package.
