About This Product

■Summary

The MP8001 / MP8001A is an IEEE 802.3af POE compliant powered device (PD) controller. These include detection and classification modes, as well as a 100V output path device with temperature-compensated current limit over a specified temperature range. Thermal protection is included for both transient and overload conditions to shut down components and protect input sources and output loads in response to certain fault conditions. Inrush current limiting is included to allow the input capacitor to slowly charge without interruption due to die heating, a problem that would occur without current limiting foldback.
