About This Product

■Summary

The MP8008 is an integrated, IEEE, 802.3af/at, PoE compliant powered device (PD) power converter. The MP8008 includes a PD interface and a peak current mode flyback controller. The PD interface has all the features of IEEE802.3af/at, including detection, one-event and two-event classification, 120mA inrush current limit, 840mA operating current limit, and 100V hot-swap MOSFET. The flyback PWM controller can drive external MOSFETs that can handle over 10A of current for high power flyback PoE applications. Pulse-skipping mode functionality improves efficiency at light loads. The MP8008 flyback has protection features such as overload protection (OLP), short circuit output, and overvoltage protection (OVP). The MP8008 is a front-end solution for PoE PD applications with minimal external components and is available in an AQFN-28 (4mm x 5mm) package.
