About This Product

■Summary

The MP5016H is a protection device designed to protect output circuitry from input transient conditions. The MP5016H also protects the input from unwanted shorts and transients coming from the output. Inrush current during start-up is limited by the output slew rate limit. Slew rate is controlled by DV/DT pin settings and MODE pin settings. The maximum load at the output is current limited. The magnitude of the current limit is controlled by an external resistor connected from ILIMIT to GND. When ILIMIT is left floating, there is a fixed 2.5A current limit. The output overvoltage protection (OVP) feature limits the output voltage. Clamp voltage can be set by MODE connection. The MP5016H connects to the gate of an external N-channel MOSFET to provide a GATE drive signal to block current from flowing from the output to the input when the IC is enabled off, in power shutdown, or in thermal shutdown. MP5016H is offered in a QFN-10 (1.5mm x 2mm) package.
