About This Product

■Summary

The MP2891 is a dual-rail, digital, multiphase controller that powers NVIDIA PWM VID core supplies. The MP2891 works with MPS' Intelli-PhaseTM products to complete a multiphase voltage regulator (VR) solution with a minimum of external components. The MP2891 is configurable for up to 16 phases on rail 1 and up to 8 phases on rail 2. MP2891 can save and restore device settings. You can configure and monitor device settings and fault parameters. The MP2891 monitors and reports output current (IOUT) through the current sense output from the Intelli-PhaseTM product. The MP2891 is based on a proprietary digital multiphase nonlinear control that provides fast transient response to load transients with minimal output capacitance. Setting up power loop compensation is easy because there is only one power loop control method for both steady state and load transients. The MP2891 is available in a QFN-56 (7mm x 7mm) package.
