About This Product

■Summary

MP5048 is a monolithic integrated controller and switch. Contains a high-side MOSFET and circuitry that allows operation as a standalone device or control by a hot-swap controller. The MP5048 can drive up to 15A of continuous current per MP5048 device. The device limits inrush current to the load when a circuit card is inserted into a live backplane power supply. This limits the backplane voltage drop. The MP5048 also limits the internal MOSFET current by controlling the gate voltage through a current limit reference input. The MP5048 offers many features that simplify system design. Provides an integrated solution for monitoring output current and die temperature without requiring external current sensing power resistors, power MOSFETs, or temperature sensing. The MP5048 detects power FET gate, source, and drain short conditions and provides feedback for the controller. Devices can be connected in parallel for high current applications. The MP5048 is available in a QFN-30 (5mm x 5mm) package.
