About This Product

■Summary

The MPQ8634A is a functionally integrated, high frequency, synchronous buck converter. The MPQ8634A provides an extremely compact solution that delivers up to 12A of output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input range. The MPQ8634A operates with high efficiency over a wide load range. The MPQ8634A employs an internally compensated constant-on-time (COT) control mode to provide fast transient response and facilitate loop stabilization. The operating frequency can be easily set to 600kHz, 800kHz, or 1,000kHz by setting MODE, and the MPQ8634A's frequency remains constant regardless of input and output voltages. The start-up slope of the output voltage is controlled by an internal 1.5ms timer. This can be increased by adding a capacitor to TRK/REF. The open-drain power good (PGOOD) signal indicates when the output is within its nominal voltage range. If the input supply cannot power the MPQ8634A, PGOOD is clamped to approximately 0.7V with an external pull-up voltage. Extensive protection features include overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), and overtemperature protection (OTP). The MPQ8634A requires a minimal number of standard off-the-shelf external components and is available in a QFN-21 (3mm x 4mm) package.
