About This Product

■Summary

The MP2965 is a dual-loop, digital multiphase controller that powers the Intel VR13.HC platform and AVSBus-controlled CPU cores. The MP2965 works with MPS' Intelli-Phase products to complete a multiphase voltage regulator (VR) solution with a minimum of external components. The MP2965 is configurable for up to 7-phase operation on rail 1 and up to 3-phase operation on rail 2. MP2965 provides on-chip EEPROM for saving and restoring device settings. Device configuration and fault parameters can be easily programmed or monitored via the PMBus/I2C interface. The MP2965 can monitor and report output current through the CS output from Intelli-Phase products. The MP2965 is based on a proprietary digital multiphase nonlinear control that provides fast transient response to load transients with minimal output capacitance. Setting up power loop compensation is very simple since there is only one power loop control method for both steady state and load transients.
