About This Product

■Summary

The MPQ7930 is a power management microcontroller (PMIC) designed to meet the power management requirements of processors used in a variety of safety-related automotive systems. The six integrated synchronous buck converters can be configured as three dual-phase or six single-phase converters. Dynamic voltage scaling allows each converter's output voltage (VOUT) to change during normal operation. The digital interface provides packet error checking (PEC) and integrated memory, making it highly configurable. Six enable pins allow each regulator to be sequenced independently for flexible timing control. This allows the device to achieve different sequencing requirements. To prevent overshoot during start-up, each converter includes a soft-start feature and slew rate can be set via memory. 2MHz fixed-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) control controls VOUT to provide fast transient response and significantly reduce external inductance and capacitance. Additionally, frequency spread spectrum (FSS) reduces electromagnetic interference. Extensive protection features include undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overcurrent protection (OCP), undervoltage protection (UVP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown. The MPQ7930 is available in a TQFN-32 (5mm x 5mm) package and is AEC-Q100 qualified.
