About This Product

■Summary

The MP2853 is a dual-loop, digital, multiphase controller that powers the core of the AMD SVI 2.0 platform. The MP2853 works with MPS' Intelli-Phase products to complete a multiphase voltage regulator (VR) solution with minimal external components. The MP2853 is configurable with up to 4-phase operation for rail 1 and up to 2-phase operation for rail 2. MP2853 provides on-chip EEPROM for saving and restoring device settings. Device configuration and fault parameters can be easily programmed and monitored via the PMBusTM/I2C interface. The MP2853 can monitor and report output current through the CS output from Intelli-Phase products. The MP2853 is based on a proprietary digital multiphase, nonlinear control that provides fast transient response to load transients with minimal output capacitance. Setting up power loop compensation is very simple since there is only one power loop control method for both steady state and load transients. The MP2853 is available in a QFN-40 (5mm x 5mm) package.
