About This Product

■Summary

The MP28167-A is a synchronous rectifier, 4-switch, integrated buck-boost converter that can highly efficiently adjust the output voltage over a wide input voltage range of 2.8V to 22V. Built-in output voltage scaling and adjustable output current limiting feature meet USB Power Delivery (PD) requirements. The MP28167-A uses constant on-time (COT) control in buck mode and constant off-time control in boost mode to achieve fast load transient response and smooth buck-boost transient response. MP28167-A offers automatic pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode, automatic pulse width modulation (PWM) mode, and forced PWM switching mode. It also features a programmable output constant current (CC) limit to support design flexibility in a variety of applications. Protection features include overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), configurable soft-start (SS), and thermal shutdown. MP28167-A is offered in a QFN-16 (3mm x 3mm) package.

・Wide operating input voltage range from 2.8V to 22V ・Output voltage configurable via FB pin ・Reference voltage (VREF) range from 0.08V to 1.637V with 0.8 mV resolution (default VREF is 1V) via I2C ・3A output current or 4A input current ・Built-in 4 low RDS (ON) step-down power MOSFETs ・Built-in sensing MOSFET, accurate output constant current (CC) limit adjustable via I2C ・Selectable switching frequency (fSW) of 500kHz / 750kHz ・Output overvoltage protection (OVP) with hiccup mode ・Output short circuit protection (SCP) with hiccup mode ・Over Temperature (OT) Warning and OT Shutdown ・I2C interface using ALT pin ・One-time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory ・I2C configurable cable drop compensation, PFM/PWM mode, soft start, OCP, OVP ・Configurable EN shutdown discharge ・Provided in QFN-16 (3mm x 3mm) package ・Performance optimized by MPS inductor MPL-AL series
