About This Product

■Summary

The MP2984 is a high efficiency, synchronous, four-switch buck-boost controller that can adjust different output voltages over a wide input voltage (VIN) range. Output voltage (VOUT), VOUT slew rate, and output constant current limit are configurable via the serial interface. The MP2984 is suitable for USB Type-C powered USB powered (PD) applications. The MP2984 uses valley current control in buck mode and peak current control in boost mode to provide fast load transient response and smooth buck-boost mode transients. Forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) and configurable current limit support flexible designs for a variety of applications. Protection features include configurable overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and VIN undervoltage lockout (UVLO) hysteresis. The MP2984 is available in a QFN-32 (4mm x 4mm) package.

・Wide operating input voltage (VIN) range from 5V to 36V ・Wide starting VIN range from 6V to 36V ・Flexible control via serial interface: ・Output voltage (VOUT) range from 0.5V to 28V ・0.3V to 2.047V reference voltage (VREF) range in 1mV steps ・Selectable VOUT slew rate ・Configurable constant current limit ・Current limit can be adjusted in steps less than 50mA via IPWM ・Output current monitoring (IMON) ・Configurable soft start time (tSS) ・Reduced EMI by switching frequency (fSW) using frequency spread spectrum (FSS) ・Equipped with VOUT discharge ・fSW selectable from 200kHz, 300kHz, 400kHz, 600kHz ・Forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) ・Configurable VIN undervoltage lockout (UVLO) hysteresis ・Minimum VIN regulation ・Overcurrent protection (OCP) ・Short circuit protection (SCP) ・Overvoltage protection (OVP) ・OCP, OVP, over-temperature protection (OTP), and PNG interrupt display ・Provided in QFN-32 (4mm x 4mm) package
