About This Product

■Summary

The MP3424A is a synchronous, high efficiency, current mode step-up (boost) converter with output disconnect. The MP3424A has accurate load current limiting for various load capacitance boosts from the battery input. The MP3424A starts with a low input voltage (VIN) of 2V during inrush current limiting, output short-circuit protection (SCP), and adjustable load current limiting. Integrated P-channel synchronous rectification improves efficiency and eliminates the need for external Schottky diodes. The P-channel MOSFET disconnects the output from the input during shutdown. A 580kHz switching frequency (fSW) allows for small external components, and internal compensation and soft-start reduce external component count. The MP3424A has flexible current limit adjustment from a supply voltage down to 2.8V to a 5V/3.1A load. Delivered in QFN-14 (2mm x 2mm) package.
