About This Product

■Summary

The MP2167A is a synchronous rectification step-up converter with configurable frequency (300kHz to 2.2MHz). It can achieve up to 6A continuous output current (IOUT) with excellent transient response and peak current for efficiency. The MP2167A operates over an input voltage (VIN) range of 2.7V to 6V and produces an output voltage (VOUT) of 0.606V. The IC is suitable for a wide range of applications including portable equipment, industrial supplies, and battery-powered equipment. The MP2167A integrates a 35mΩ high-side MOSFET (HS-FET) and a 25mΩ synchronous rectifier to achieve high efficiency without using an external Schottky diode. The IC can be configured for either advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode or forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) operation at light loads. In AAM mode, the FCCM has a controllable frequency and lower output ripple while achieving high efficiency by reducing switching losses at light loads. The MP2167A offers standard features such as soft-start (SS), external SYNC clock, enable (EN) control, and power good (PG) indicator. In addition, the MP2167A features overcurrent protection (OCP) with valley current detection to avoid current runaway, short circuit protection (SCP), reliable overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal protection with automatic recovery. With internal compensation, the MP2167A requires a minimal number of standard off-the-shelf external components and is available in a QFN-14 (3mm x 3mm) package.
