Nakagawa Hume Tube has revolutionized the idea that ``flexible Hume tubes only need to meet a certain bending performance''. CS pipe was born from our efforts to develop a flexible pipe that does not deform under loads that are at least below the bending moment that the pipe itself can resist, but only exhibits flexibility when a certain bending moment is exceeded.

■Does not deflect under small unbalanced loads.

Since the Hume tube itself has resistance to copper bending, it is a flexible tube that does not deform under small unbalanced loads that the Hume tube can withstand.

■For large unbalanced loads, use flexible tubes.

When large unbalanced loads such as uneven settlement are applied and the Hume tube is unable to resist and there is a risk of copper breaking, it exhibits flexibility and bends or shears to prevent Hume tube breakage accidents.

■Exhibits sufficient flexibility.

Even if bending deformation occurs in the flexible part, it maintains the same watertightness as a pipe joint. However, large displacements in the pipes cause irregularities in the scent distribution, causing water flow problems. Therefore, it has sufficient flexibility considering the practical allowable displacement range.

■Propulsion method is possible.

For pipelines laid using the propulsion method, measures must also be taken to prevent copper from breaking in manhole-mounted pipes inside the shaft, and near the copper sheet piles outside the shaft. The CS pipe can be propelled through the development of a protective cover, so it can be placed in a predetermined position outside the shaft.

■Structure of CS pipe

In CS pipes, flexible rubber, wear, and joint plates are integrally molded with the pipe. When an unbalanced load is applied within the range that the pipe itself can resist, the wear controls the flexibility of the flexible rubber, but when further unbalanced loads are applied, the wear pattern breaks and the flexible rubber gradually begins to exhibit its flexibility. Furthermore, for propulsion, a protective cover is installed to protect the flexible parts during propulsion.
