■ED lenses that suppress chromatic aberrationWhen light is collected by a lens, color blurring (chromatic aberration) occurs due to differences in the refractive index depending on the wavelength (color) of the light.The Artes J uses ED glass (special low dispersion glass), which suppresses chromatic aberration, as the objective lens material.It suppresses chromatic aberration to the bare minimum and achieves sharp images.

3 types of optical coatings
■Vixen's highest level anti-reflection coating "Flat Multi Coat"The entire optical surface of the lens is coated with 7 or more anti-reflection multilayer coatings (flat multi-layer coating). It exhibits the highest level of anti-reflection effect over almost the entire visible light range, achieving an extremely bright field of view and excellent contrast, exceeding that of multi-coating (three layers), which is generally considered to have high performance.

■“Phase coat” that achieves high contrastIn a roof prism, when light is reflected from the roof surface (part of the prism's optical surface), a phase shift occurs in the light, reducing resolution. Artes J uses a phase coating on the roof surface to correct phase shifts, improve resolution loss, and achieve extremely high contrast.

■Highly reflective coat that increases brightnessIn the roof prism, the auxiliary prism has an optical surface that does not reflect total reflection, and functions as a prism by depositing a mirror on it. Artes J uses a special coating (high reflection coating) that increases the reflectance in addition to the vapor deposition of the mirror to ensure extremely bright visibility.

■Oil-repellent coat that keeps your vision clear at all timesThe outer surfaces of the objective lens and eyepiece are coated with an oil-repellent coating that prevents dirt from adhering to the eyepiece. The lens surface is kept clean, ensuring clear vision at all times. Even if fingerprints or dirt get on the surface, it is easy to wipe them off.
