About This Product

NanoDCAL is a state-of-the-art general-purpose ab initio quantum transport package that combines nonequilibrium Green's function method (NEGF) and density functional theory (DFT) to predict nonequilibrium quantum transport in nanostructures, including current-voltage characteristics in nanoscale devices.

■Multifunctional NEGF-DFT nanoelectron transport solver

NanoDCAL (Nano DFT Calculator) is implemented with the Linear Combination of Atomic Orbitals (LCAO) approximation of NEGF-DFT. It is a versatile tool for ab initio modeling of nonequilibrium quantum transport and has contributed to hundreds of scientific papers in fields as diverse as molecular electronics, nanotubes, topological insulators, batteries, magnetic tunnel junctions, and metal grain boundaries.

- Implemented in MATLAB and C language (no MATLAB license required) ・Targets molecular and nanoscale electronics (from small scale to large scale systems of over 1,000 atoms) ・Spintronics (collinear, non-collinear, spin-orbit coupling) ・Semiconductor nanoelectronics (current-voltage characteristics) - Several functions such as total energy, force, scattering state and phonon calculations ・Computational power, stress, and structure optimization for molecules, crystals, one-probe and two-probe systems ・Electronic phonon coupling ・Atomic basis function optimization ・Photocurrent ・Heat transfer coefficient
