■Product overview

・Measurement principle: Dissolved oxygen reduction measurement method at room temperature for 5 days (DO measurement: acidic indigo carmine colorimetric method). ・Measurement range: 1 to 9 or more mg/L. ・Number of measurements: Up to 15 times. ・Contents: Dissolved oxygen (DO) kit (30 ampoules, standard colors, snapper), inorganic nutrient solutions R1 and R2, 6 glass culture bottles, instruction manual (with example measurement results and data sheet). ・Conditions: No bacterial inoculation, no dilution of sample water, no temperature control of sample water.

■Features

・Anyone can easily measure the BOD of a river by simply comparing the DO (dissolved oxygen) value when river water was collected and 5 days later. - Quantitative performance has been improved by introducing an inorganic nutrient salt solution and using sheet-type standard colors that are easy to compare. *In this measurement, bacteria are not inoculated and the sample is not kept at a constant temperature (20℃) for 5 days, so it may not match the BOD5 of the JIS method.
