About This Product

It is known experimentally that there is a strong correlation between the elastic wave velocity and compressive strength of concrete. Based on this, the method of estimating compressive strength by measuring the propagation velocity of impact elastic waves (elastic wave velocity) is called the compressive strength estimation method using impact elastic waves.

■Principle

A vibration detector incorporating two vibration sensors is placed in contact with the concrete surface, and by hitting the area with a hammer, an impact elastic wave is generated and the elastic wave velocity is measured. The elastic wave velocity is calculated from the difference in propagation time obtained by the two vibration sensors and the measurement distance (30cm). Compressive strength is estimated using a strength estimation formula created by measuring the specimen in advance. This method is called the two-point surface method for estimating compressive strength.
