About This Product

■Product overview

Metal Additive Maufacturing (AM=3D printing) has made it possible to create complex shapes such as infill structures that were previously difficult to create using casting or cutting. In Japan, it is being introduced mainly in the aircraft, automobile, and medical industries. However, on the other hand, it also has several issues such as long manufacturing time, high material costs, and unsuitability for mass production. Therefore, preliminary verification using simulation is attracting attention in order to reduce costs and shorten delivery times in metal AM processes. Ansys Additive Print/Additive Suite was developed by a group of metal AM experts with long industry experience and a deep understanding of the needs of the field. By going through the simulation process, the conventional trial and error in metal AM processes can be greatly reduced, contributing to cost reductions and shortened delivery times. It is even possible to print metal parts with the optimal shape on the first try. We offer two types of products: Ansys Additive Print for designer operators and Ansys Additive Suite for engineers/researchers.

■Features

- Simulate stress and deformation for each layer, deformation after removing support materials, prediction of thermal distortion shape due to heat treatment, residual stress of molded objects on plates, etc. - It is possible to read different scan patterns for each equipment manufacturer, understand thermal behavior, and predict distortion, defect distribution, etc. ・It is possible to consider the entire metal AM process chain, including topology optimization, part verification, construction setup, support material generation, and construction failure prevention. Geometry & STL file editing Distortion prediction using inherent strain/automatic distortion correction/residual stress after printing/deformation after support material removal/stress analysis of each layer/blade damage detection/support material optimization
