Coil types have problems such as the evaporated metal dripping down due to melting and low evaporation efficiency, while container and target types are expensive and have low thermal efficiency.

In collaboration with the Japan Atomic Energy Agency, we have solved these problems and developed an inexpensive titanium evaporation wire that can be applied to coating large equipment. In addition to titanium, it can also be applied to gold, silver, copper, nickel, aluminum, etc., and we will optimally design it to suit your application.

Tungsten wire or strands of tungsten wire is used as the core wire of the evaporation wire, and it is heated by applying electricity in a vacuum device, and the evaporation metal is melted and evaporated. In order to control this melting and evaporation state, molybdenum wires are placed at regular intervals to prevent the molten metal wire from sagging. Furthermore, the tungsten guard wire wrapped around the outside prevents the molten evaporation wire from flowing and prevents dripping. With this structure, it is possible to secure an evaporation efficiency of around 80%. Electricity is applied not only to the core wire but to the entire evaporation wire, allowing for efficient heating.

In addition to being used for regular coatings, evaporation lines are also used as evaporation sources for reactive deposition (e.g. titanium carbide coating in acetylene gas) and sublimation pumps (titanium getter pumps) for obtaining high vacuums.
