■Product overview

RIAM-COMPACT is an unsteady/nonlinear wind condition simulator developed by RIAM COMPACT Co., Ltd., a venture company from Kyushu University, West Japan Technology Development Co., Ltd., and GIS Research Institute Co., Ltd. The core technology of this software was developed by Associate Professor Takanori Uchida of the Institute of Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University, and others, and Liam Compact Co., Ltd. has obtained exclusive license permission from the Kyushu Industry-Academia Collaboration Organization (Kyuudai TLO). It is possible to predict with high precision the effects of buildings and terrain on the wind, which change from moment to moment, and is mainly used to select suitable locations for wind power generation.

・Keywords are “animation display” and “rigorous business evaluation” ・Unsteady/nonlinear fluid engineering CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) model ・By adopting the LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) turbulence model, which is considered more promising than the RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) model, it is possible to reduce "wind paths" and "wind turbulence" over complex terrain. Can be reproduced as an animation ・With strong mutual cooperation between GIS (Geographical Information System) and CFD, it can be applied to all flat and complex terrains around the world, both domestically and internationally.
