About This Product

■Features

NOKTON 40mm F1.2Aspherical RF mount is a large-diameter standard lens compatible with full-frame mirrorless cameras that uses Canon RF mount. Despite its compact size, it achieves an amazingly large aperture of F1.2 as a full-size 40mm lens. You can enjoy optical performance that can be used with confidence even from the widest aperture, and smooth and large bokeh.

■Designed exclusively for Canon RF mount

Implemented an optical system optimized for image sensors of mirrorless cameras that use Canon RF mount*1. This lens has a full-frame image circle and can be used with both full-frame and APS-C size mirrorless cameras.

■Information communication with the body using electronic contacts

The lens mount is equipped with electronic contacts to enable electrical communication between the lens and the body. In combination with the Canon EOS R system body, it supports Exif information, in-body image stabilization (3-axis) *2, and three types of focus assist functions (enlarged display, peaking, focus guide *3).

■Angle of view that is easy to use even in APS-C size

The angle of view with a focal length of 40mm is equivalent to 60mm on an APS-C size camera, so it is highly versatile and can be used as a standard lens for both full-frame and APS-C size cameras.

■Manual focus for reliable focus operation

The use of an all-metal helicoid unit that has been machined and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate amount of torque provides focusing with a smooth operating feel. This allows for delicate focus adjustments.

■Beautiful bokeh created by 10 aperture blades

In order to make the hole formed by the aperture blades more circular, a 10-element aperture is used. Out-of-focus areas are rendered naturally, and point light sources are not polygonal, but have a round, soft bokeh.

■Aperture click switching mechanism

The aperture ring has a click switching mechanism that allows you to open and close the aperture steplessly without being affected by clicks, such as when shooting videos or adjusting the depth of focus. *1 Due to the optical characteristics of the lenses, magenta overlay may occur at the periphery of the screen depending on the shooting conditions for EOS R, RP, and R6. *2 Only valid for bodies equipped with in-body image stabilization function. *3 Excluding EOS RP.
