About This Product

■Stainless steel tortoiseshell wire mesh

Tortoise shell wire mesh is made by twisting adjacent wires together to form a hexagonal, or tortoise shell, mesh. Because it is easy to handle and has excellent workability, it is used for a variety of purposes, such as for preventing danger at construction sites, fences in fields, and for preventing wild animals. Basically, we do not sell stainless steel hexagonal wire mesh by cutting, but as an exception, we only sell 0.8φ x 10mm and 0.8φ x 16mm (new on September 9, 2011).

■Customized tortoiseshell wire mesh available

Regardless of the material, tortoiseshell wire mesh is basically woven in a width of 910 mm and rolled in 15 m or 30 m in stock. Due to production process issues, we are unable to accommodate small quantities, but we can weave in wide widths of 2,000 to 2,500 mm (depending on the wire diameter), as well as widths according to your wishes, and the length of one roll. We can also manufacture wire rods, brass, and other materials that are not in stock, but we cannot manufacture them from aluminum. Generally speaking, it is not possible to cut tortoise shell wire mesh in the length direction, but it is possible to easily cut the mesh in the width direction using a slitter. However, please note that the selvedges on both sides of the width will be removed.

■[Important notice]

As of April 1, 2015, the 13mm size was no longer available for all materials, but the introduction of new machines and molds did not meet demand at all, so they were no longer being remanufactured. note that.

■Turtle shell wire mesh

Kikkoukanaami is a type of wire mesh that has the oldest history and is widely popular among the general public. The history of tortoise-shell wire mesh can be traced back to 1615, when copper tortoise-shell wire mesh was placed on the windows of the barn of the Yoshimura residence (an important cultural property) in Habikino City, Osaka Prefecture. It can be seen that it was made and used. This tortoise-shell wire mesh became popular to the general public when materials such as copper wire, brass wire, and iron wire began to be abundantly supplied due to remarkable improvements in wire drawing technology. After the development of the machine, productivity improved dramatically through various improvements, ushering in the current era of mass production.
