■Summary
The corrugated plate oil/water separator was developed by Shell Sekiyu in 1966, and is manufactured and sold by Nippon Engineering Products under a license agreement. C.P.I. is the core of this system and is a technically superior, space-saving, compact gravity-type high-performance separator.
The C.P.I. is made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin, aluminum, iron, stainless steel, etc., depending on the application, but a standard C.P.I. is made of fiberglass and consists of 50 sheets stacked horizontally. It is made of corrugated board and is called a C.P.I. pack. Its dimensions are 103cm high x 100cm wide x 175cm long, but other dimensions can be manufactured upon request.
There is a groove at one end of the C.P.I., and when the fluid enters the C.P.I., only the oil flows through the top of the corrugation and collects in the groove, while other fluids are guided to the bottom. The C.P.I pack is installed at a 45 degree angle for separation efficiency. A typical C.P.I. is designed to remove all oil droplets larger than 60 microns, but it is possible to design a separator with even higher performance depending on the type of fluid and requirements.

■Applications

This is a necessary system for equipment, etc.
