About This Product

■What is a low-speed 2-cycle engine?

It is an engine in which one cycle (period) of scavenging (intake), compression, combustion, and exhaust is performed in one revolution of the crankshaft, or two strokes (strokes) of the piston.

■Features

As mentioned above, a 2-cycle engine performs the scavenging (intake), compression, combustion, and exhaust cycles with one rotation of the crankshaft, so it is lighter and more compact with the same output than a 4-cycle engine that performs two rotations of the crankshaft. . It uses a crosshead system to achieve a long stroke and low rotation speed, and is designed for low fuel consumption, demonstrating performance in continuous operation in the high output range.

Equipped with a fuel oil line circulation function, it is possible to start and stop the engine even with high viscosity C heavy oil. Taking advantage of the uniflow scavenging static pressure supercharging system, we adopted an ultra-long stroke design that increased the bore-stroke ratio from 3.0 to 4.0, achieving both low fuel consumption and low rotation speed. It has a wide output range and the advantage of being able to select the optimal output and rotation speed depending on the type of ship and intended use depending on the number of cylinders, as well as its high performance.Since 1982, it has been installed on many new ships around the world.
