About This Product

This is a completely new open channel flowmeter that can measure underwater flow velocity in a non-contact manner that has never existed before. There have been flowmeters called non-contact currentmeters, but they were not able to measure actual underwater flow. This time, ISCO has developed a new laser technology that can directly measure underwater flow velocity without contact, and has achieved highly accurate flow measurement. Since a laser is used, the focus is narrowed down and the flow velocity measurement point becomes small, so the laser is moved to measure a wide range of measurement points. By measuring widely and changing the focal length at the same time, we were able to create width in the depth direction. Since we narrowed down the flow velocity measurement points to a small number at one time, we moved the measurement locations one after another and measured multiple points to find the average flow velocity in the pipe. The current speed measurement signal is sent to the upstream side, and the water level measurement signal is sent directly below to measure the flow speed and water level at the same time. In the unlikely event that the sensor section is submerged due to rising water levels, by installing a Doppler current meter at the same time, the flow velocity will be switched to cross-sectional flow velocity measurement and the water level will be measured by the pressure sensor. The flow rate measurement signal surface is protected from dirt by an air pocket mechanism, allowing measurement to be performed as is when the water level drops. The same sensor unit can be connected to the battery-powered 2160 for survey purposes or to the stationary Signature.
