About This Product

There are two types of objective micrometers: transmission type and reflection type. The transmission type has a scale vapor-deposited on a glass plate and is used to calibrate the ocular micrometer of a transmitted illumination type microscope, mainly biological microscopes. In addition, the reflective type has a round glass plate embedded in the middle of a metal substrate (plate) with a scale deposited on it. The scale lines are missing from the deposited film (white) and appear black when viewed through the eyepiece of a microscope. A microscope with reflected illumination system, generally used for calibrating the eyepiece micrometer of a metallurgical microscope. When using a reflective objective micrometer with a transmitted illumination microscope, it is extremely difficult to examine the micrometer and it is almost impossible to see. On the other hand, if you examine a transmission objective micrometer with a reflected illumination microscope, you can see it, but it is a little difficult to see, so we recommend choosing an objective micrometer that matches the illumination system, as this will allow for more accurate calibration. .
