About This Product

■It flexibly responds to the various movements that nature imparts to buildings, such as the expansion and contraction of the building frame due to temperature changes and the vibration of the building frame due to earthquakes.EXP.J.C "Sunpansion" is available in R type, which is movable in all horizontal directions, and G type and GR type, which are capable of high movability. We have conducted various tests on movability, load capacity, flame resistance, etc., so you can use it with confidence.

■What is EXP.J.C?Buildings undergo shaking and displacement due to various external forces. This places a large load on the building, which can lead to the building collapsing. Therefore, by creating gaps (clearances) in buildings, it is possible to separate the propagation of forces and reduce the load on the building.

This method and construction method is called EXP.J (Expansion Joint), and the finishing material that covers the gaps and has the function of not interfering with the use of the building is called EXP.J.C (Expansion Joint Cover).

■Forces generated in buildingsForces in all directions act on a building, including vertical forces such as dead weight, live loads, and snow loads, as well as wind pressure loads, seismic forces, and underground parts due to earth pressure and water pressure.

■Buildings that require EXP.JEXP.J is required for joints between buildings where buildings sway in different ways and positions, or where expansion and contraction may be affected by temperature changes.

■About movementThe amount of movement of EXP.J.C is the amount of displacement for each direction.

■Horizontal directionThis applies to the deformation of buildings due to expansion and contraction due to earthquakes, external forces, and temperature changes. Buildings do not deform only in the X- and Y-axis directions, but complex deformations occur.

・X-axis: Clearance expansion/contraction direction
・Y-axis: Direction perpendicular to the clearance

■Vertical directionThis applies to vertical displacement due to uneven settlement and interstory deformation of buildings. Z-axis: Perpendicular to the ground.

■R type featuresThe R type is an EXP.J.C with a movable amount of 25 to 30% of the clearance. A rail mechanism is installed on the ceiling and floor installed on horizontal areas to ensure excellent mobility.
