About This Product

A chain coupling is assembled with two sprockets and one double-row roller chain. As a shaft joint for power transmission, the sprocket is machined with a shaft hole, key, and set screw, and is connected by two rows of chains. Compared to fixed shaft joints, there is more flexibility in the engagement of the chain and sprocket, which offers many advantages. By using a special aluminum die-cast case, it is possible to fill the joint roller chain with grease, and the casing increases safety.

■Features

Chain couplings are extremely flexible shaft couplings that are assembled from two sprockets and one double-row roller chain, and can connect and separate both shafts with a single pin. It has many advantages and is used in a wide range of fields. structure

■Easy centering

When connecting the shafts on both sides, it is best to install them so that the shaft centers are in a straight line as much as possible, but this is very time-consuming. Chain couplings are designed to make maximum use of the engagement between the chain and sprocket and the play shown in the diagram below to facilitate installation and protect the machine.

■Excellent durability

The tooth tips of the sprocket are hardened by surface quenching to ensure excellent durability. In addition, the roller chains used for this are all quenched and tempered especially for coupling, so they can withstand long-term use.

■Small and powerful

A roller chain meshes with the sprocket teeth and the torque is shared between each tooth around the entire circumference. Since the point of force application is near the outer periphery, it can demonstrate large transmission capacity even though it is small.

■Easy to handle

You can easily attach and detach the chain by inserting and removing the single joint pin that connects both ends of the roller chain. No special tools are required.

■Safe and compact

The case used with the coupling is a HEIWA original design that includes an O-ring to prevent oil leaks and slips. It is also safe because it has a compact appearance without bolt protrusions like other couplings.
