About This Product

Stably integrates the charge amount of an electron beam over a long period of time.

■Summary

This unit is a device that integrates the amount of charge of an electron beam emitted by a linear accelerator over a certain period of time, and calculates the total amount of charge for that period with high precision. Low-current, short-pulse currents with a pulse width of only about 1 nS are input repeatedly at a frequency of 1 Hz or less, so when measurements are taken over several days or weeks, errors are likely to occur due to noise and leakage current. Therefore, a single pulse of current is converted into a voltage using an external high-speed sample and hold circuit, which is then converted into a digital value using A/D conversion and added. Additionally, since the system automatically detects the time when the beam does not arrive and stops integration during that time, highly accurate measurements can be expected. Furthermore, measurement accuracy can be improved by measuring the noise that enters the circuit when the beam is not coming and subtracting it from the measured value of the beam charge amount.
