About This Product

Flow Pulse provides reliable results across a wide range of pipe materials and diameters. No pipe cutting is required, reducing expensive installation costs and the need for process downtime. The sensor simply clamps onto the outside of the pipe and instantly provides reliable flow monitoring. It's clean and simple, with virtually no installation costs and no service interruptions. The Flow Pulse is easily secured to the band with a screwdriver. Silicone coupling pads ensure good acoustic contact between the flow pulse and the pipe.

■Technology/Features

FlowPulse uses a novel spread spectrum analysis technique and also incorporates new digital signal processing to deliver excellent reproducibility. The sensor generates a wide ultrasound beam that is refracted by the pipe wall and also reflected by suspended particles in the flowing medium.

■How it works

Ultrasonic waves are launched at a 90° angle to the flow through a tangentially mounted high-power ceramic through the pipe wall, refracted at an angle transverse to the axis of the flow, and then removed from bubbles, particles, and vortices in all directions. reflected at a wide range of frequencies. A wide refractive ultrasound beam maximizes the ultrasound energy captured from flowing particles. These multiple reflections are sent back to the unit via a second high performance ceramic.

■ Does the liquid need to be clean or dirty?

Due to the nature of the technology used by Flow Pulse, this sensor is best suited for applications where there are a lot of bubbles, particles, and vortices. For clean water applications, Pulsar Measurement's flow meter TTFM 6.1 is ideal.
