About This Product

It is possible to measure harmful air pollutants, work environment measurements, and mercury collection tube-thermal vaporization methods that comply with official methods such as mercury analysis methods in LP gas.

■Principle

This system can measure mercury in gas samples. Mercury in the general environmental atmosphere can be divided into metallic mercury Hg0, which exists in gaseous form, divalent mercury, and particulate mercury (mercury adsorbed around particles or mercury incorporated into particles). For atmospheric samples, a mercury collection tube is set in a sampling pump and sampling is performed for a certain period of time, and the gaseous metal mercury in the atmosphere is collected by forming an amalgam in the mercury collection tube (filled with a mercury collection agent). . Next, this mercury collection tube is attached to a mercury collection tube baking furnace and heated to release the mercury, which is then collected in another mercury collection tube built into the main body of the device. The mercury collection tube is then heated to release the mercury and introduced into the absorption cell for measurement. During sampling, organic gases other than mercury are also attached to the mercury collection tube, which must be removed. This method eliminates measurement effects caused by interfering substances and enables more accurate mercury measurements. The measurement method of MD-700 complies with the Ministry of the Environment's Hazardous Air Pollutant Measurement Method Manual.

■Features

・Mercury collection tube compatible with official method - Easy to measure by heating vaporization method. ・Measurement of mercury in gas samples is possible by using a mercury collection unit, mercury collection tube baking furnace, and MD-Win. ・The heater used in the mercury collection tube baking furnace can heat up to 750℃ or more, which is sufficient temperature to bake out the mercury that has formed gold amalgam. ・Mercury collection tube The mercury heated and baked out in the baking furnace is collected again in the mercury collection tube of the mercury detector MD-700. Since the same mercury collection tube is used for re-collection, mercury is baked out under the same conditions when introduced into the absorption cell, enabling highly accurate measurements. ・As the receiving side of the mercury collection tube uses a fitting made of fluorine rubber, the mercury collection tube can be easily inserted, and there is no need to tighten it with a cap nut as is the case with joint connections. .

■Applications

Measurement of mercury concentration in general ambient air, exhaust gas, work environment gas, soil gas samples, etc.
